79.5 – Terrorize My Heart (Disco Dub)

79-5-terrorize-my-heart-45-scanThis NYC band, who has been making waves around The City for a while with month long residencies in Brooklyn and write ups in the New Yorker comes at us hard with the B Side to their first single “Terrorize My Heart” out now on Big Crown Records. A certified dance floor filler, this Disco Dub was mixed by Jens Jungkurth, who’s had his hands in everything from Charles Bradley to Father John Misty. He transformed the original 45 cut into this monster that would wake up the dead. It’s infectious, addicting, and with the the hand claps and flutes, plus three vocalists, this 45 is the shit right now. For us, it takes us back when we were teens, when many different styles of music moved everyone at the same time. Punk rock kids mixed with break dancers and hip hop heads, goth kids, and the like. Whether it was nu wave, punk, funk, disco (not disco), hip hop or more, the scene was fueled by the music. This is a tune that we feel like would have fit in perfect and would have had everyone moving to these sirens song. From the first needle drop on this thing, it screams: “Notice me, and get your ass on the dance floor!” Big Crown coming correct once again with heat in a seven inch package. Can you imagine a 12 inch extended remix of this thing? We can. Check out the track below, and don’t sleep like you did on those Star Creature releases and pick a copy of the 45 up.
