Suff Daddy – Paper Proclamation (Pat Van Dyke Remix)

paper-proclamationWe always love a good remix here at Flea Market Funk, and when it’s by one of the fam, it’s a bonus. Bandleader, producer, and FMF collaborator Pat Van Dyke take an already dope track in Suff Daddy’s “Paper Proclamation” featuring Mayer Hawethorne and elevate this bad boy for life to another level. He takes this low key, boogie influenced original and puts his own PVD flair on it. We all agree that the hand clapped, synth heavy original, gets them on the floor. But guess what? This one reworked by PVD is dope too. He takes this track, still keeps it dance floor friendly, but smooths it out a bit and adds some of that fine PVD sound that includes a horn section and a groove that could be right out of a Creed Taylor session to make you sweat. Let’s not forget some fine keys and a fresh back beat as well, which makes him Mr. October like Reggie Jackson. In other words, dude hits a home run with this one. We think you will agree. Just another arrow of heat PVD has put into his musical quiver. Great to see him just stepping up the game and crushing it with this remix. Check out the track below and hear for yourself:
