Today we travel to Manchester, and no it’s not to talk about The Red Devils or Citeh, but an EP from Manchester’s own Children of Zeus. We first heard of this band last Summer on this very same label, First Word, and now Konny Kon & Tyler Daley are back with some more music, one track from the release The Story So Far. The duo have earned their stripes both on a solo tip and as they got together and formed Children of Zeus that garnished much attention in the Manchester scene and beyond. Their first single “Still Standing” is a much sought after piece by wax junkies who missed the first pressing, so that is included on this new release. Their sound which injects soul into hip hop bravado has helped them find their place in the bustling Manchester scene and with the beat making prowess they both possess this duo is destined for greatness. Sharing stages (and rocking them too) with everyone from Pete Rock to Zed Bias, their monthly radio show on NTS has seen them collabo with heavyweights such as Goldie and Caron Wheeler among others. With their debut record dropping in 2018, this Ep is a culmination of tracks they have done in the last ten years. Raw gritty and soulful, this release should hold over old and new fans until the full length drops.
