If you have been a regular reader of this site, we have been reviewing this talented man’s music for some time. We are talking about Güneş Alpman aka Alpman, a talented multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ from Istanbul, Turkey. He’s released a bunch of forty fives and a slew of tracks that have run the gamut from Turkish funk and psychedelica to surf rock, minimalist electronica and disco among others. His consistent output of music and work ethic are a testament to the person he is. I am honored to call this individual my friend. He has turned me on to more Turkish psych and funk artists and records that I could ever be capable of discovering. For that I am eternally grateful. I asked Alpman to put together a mix of some of his favorite Turkish tracks for Flea Market Funk. Here is what he had to say about it:

I just wanted to do this mix of almost classical Turkish funk and psychedelic songs exclusive to Flea Market Funk. But I must say this is just top of the iceberg. Expect more to come.. most of these songs are the songs I grew up with, so it’s a bit special for me in a way.
