Fresh for the warm summer months, Adam Gibbons aka Lack of Afro is back once again with two sides of the good stuff to cure what ails you on your daily grind. Featuring Elliot Cole, this new forty five “Back To The Day” takes you back people, way back. Think Jackson 5, Earth Wind & Fire, that kind of sound. The multi-instrumentalist and song writer flexes all of his chops on this release. Mixing the old and the new, something he is not afraid to do, and known for, Gibbons gets the best out of Elliot Cole. Cole, no stranger himself doing big things, has forged a great path for himself as a guitarist and vocalist with Joss Stone, recording and supporting legendary soul singers Betty Wright and Solomon Burke as well as a performing solo artist. His CV speaks for himself. LOA’s signature big drum beater sound complements the vibe on this track. He is backed by Cole on bass and guitar, George Cooper from the Haggis Horns on keys, as well as Rory Simons (Jamie Cullam, Blur) on trumpet string and horn arrangement, and Harry Harding (Yola Carter)on drums. A stellar line up of musicians. Let’s just say we are happy to hear from this talented performer once again and his frequent collaborator Cole. a great one two combination that gets your soul moving. Speaking of moving, the flip, “Taking It Up A Notch” feat. Wax & Herbal T, from the Back In Business EP is a sun and fun party anthem that will be sure to get the asses moving and the dance floor sweating. A nice touch for the B. There will be 75 signed records available in the lot as well as a limited run of 300 pieces for this release.
