Today we premiere the track “Gavoé” from Brussels based multi-intrumentalist Esinam Dogbatse and a beautiful introduction into her world of jazztronica. Her self titled record will be released via Sdban Ultra on September 21st. Esinam is part of the new guard, who are constantly blending traditional instruments with the modern to come up with a fusion of sounds they each call their own. Playing most of the instruments and producing the record herself, she collabed with Jules Fradet from Studio Planet (Damso, Afrikan Prötökol) and had it mastered by Kelly Hibbert aka Almachrome (J Dilla, Madlib, Little Dragon, Flying Lotus, Ebo Taylor, Mark de Clive-Lowe and Arca) out of Los Angeles. “Gavoé” is a beautiful composition mixing her Ghanaian heritage through traditional as well as modern days sounds and features alluring vocals that round out this side completely. The track fuses both jazz and electronica elements with African rhythms, forming an aural bond between listener and performer, and by the time the end of the song comes around, you’re ready to do it again. Poetic and captivating, this release is a winner. This project is available on a 10″ record and digital download. Check out the track below:
