Kyoto Jazz Sextet – Rising (Ron Trent Remix)

Today we get deep. Deep into music that will change our mood, your feelings, and uplift you to a higher place. We’re talking Kyoto Jazz Sextet and their mind blowing sound. The first jazz project of DJ/music producer Shuya Okino from Kyoto Jazz Massive, their two releases Mission (2015), and Unity (2017) are very necessary. Today’s treats come from the 2017 Blue Note release Unity, and are remixed by the one and only Ron Trent. If that name doesn’t ring a bell, it should. A seminal DJ and producer in house music, he’s been putting out massive records in both deep house and techno since the mid ’80’s. In other words a legend. Trent takes “Rising” and makes the already high spirited track and elevates it to dance floor status. Chock full of organ, way out horns, and latin rhythms, this 10″ is exactly what the doctor ordered late night when you need the feet and asses to move and that feel good but let’s bust it loose attitude to come over people. Even if you are not into house music, you can not deny the power of this record and the ground work Trent has laid down through time to get to reworking this one. Like we said earlier, this one’s deep, and if it’s not for you (we have no idea why), don’t worry, just wait a little while. You’ll catch on. Most definitely one of the best dance floor tracks out there right now. Listen to the track below and get a copy (sold out on bandcamp already) from the link after the stream.
