End this week of great music with a new edit from the ever talented DJ A-L and a proper put together of three classics flipped in his own way. The lead track is MC Ricky D aka Slick Rick aka The Ruler and a creation called “The Ruler’s Back”. Using original samples and sampled materiel, A-L dissects and puts the track back together again in his own way. The track flows nicely and is sure to get any party jumping. A classic edited in a a different way, with emphasis on the original samples and how they were used, chopped, flipped and made into a great new composition to nod your head to. He does the same for “All I Need”, keeping that same sample and head nodding to let Mef and Mary’s vocals do what they do: make people get hype. The last track is one that’s a fairly newer track (2018), one that we have been digging the original since it was released. Nas’s “Cop Shot The Kid”, which, he flips again in a big way. The political/ social anthem of 2018 gets the A-L treatment and of course, it’s dope. Limited to a small run of 300, if you are into these golden age edits, this one is for you. Stream the record below and grab one before they are gone after the stream.
NICE !! Love how DJ A-L kept respect to the original !
