jitwam: Temptations

Today’s heat comes way of Northern India and currently making magic in Brooklyn, NYC. jitwam, who’s psychedelic soul stylings Honeycomb will be out for the masses to groove to on Tartlet Records in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 2nd is a cure for what ails you on a Friday. Running the gamut from underground house, soul, indie rock, psych rock, and hip hop in the past, releasing his music on his own label Jazz Diaries, he’s garnished attention from artists like Moodyman, among others. This time he’s put together 12 tracks recorded at Steam Room Sessions in London with the help of Natureboy Flako. “temptations” is a lofi, soulful holla with ample drums and a fuzzy guitar that stays present throughout. Not as eclectic as a Cody Chesnutt, closer to sounds of Erlend Øye, and full of serious soul. This is one of the so called diary entries that document the daily grind and goings on, which then turn into these tracks. This song is indeed catchy and feels good to listen to. Looking forward to this full length. If the rest is as good as this single, this is a contender for one of the top albums of 2019 already.
