Patterson Twins – Let Me Be Your Lover

Acid Jazz Records bring us a rare and rather expensive Lp back to life with the upcoming release of the Patterson Twins Let Me Be Your Lover. Originally out in 1978 on Commercial Records out of Mississippi, this funk/ soul/ and disco monster is now available all over,(for the first time in UK/ Europe as well). Remastered and fully licensed by Lester Patterson, it contains the absolute banger of a track “Gonna Find A True Love” (released on a seven inch edit on Miles Away this year), that has no problem getting a dance floor moving. We dig the house party style track “Funk Machine”, bongos and all, but there are so many different tracks on here that are dope. The twins get tender on “You Give Me Someone To Love”, but break out the gospel soul on “A Good Thing”, while smoothing it out on the sax tip with “He’s A Loser”, probably the best title of a track on the record itself. This record is a welcome addition for collectors here in the States and abroad, as we mentioned the sheer scarcity of the record in general. For those of you who don’t mind paying $2k or more for the original, good on ya, Discogs awaits. But for anyone else who wants to grab this ultra rare Lp on the reissue tip, Acid Jazz Records come through lovely on this project. Listen to the stream below and pre-order after the stream. Another winner from Acid Jazz for sure.
