Feeling This Friday: Durand Jones & the Indications: Cruisin’ To The Park

This Friday we are feeling the new forty five and accompanying video from Durand Jones & the Indications ‘Cruisin’ To The Park”. Originally packaged as a bundle for their sophomore album American Love Call, this B-Side bonus record caught on with the low rider set and a new generation of soul champions as their anthem. It’s sweet as honey and exactly what you’d want in a soul track. Keeping it slow and ow and authentic as you’d expect. This track has been on repeat here at Flea Market Funk since it dropped. It’s great to hear that Colemine have now released this as a seven inch for all of the masses to get their hands on. If you like your soul feeling like The Whatnauts as if it is 1970, then this is the record for you. f you dig the nod to a certain label graphically, then this is the record for you. If you appreciate good, low rider soul, then this is the record for you. If you appreciate a modern soul band like Durand Jones & the Indications and how they carry on the torch of real soul music, this is for you. We honestly can’t see how any soul lover would not grab this record and run with it. Perfect for your backyard BBQ, late night wall grind party, or cruising in you ’64, you can’t deny the power of this record in 2019. Check out the video for the track below, and purchase the record from Colemine on black vinyl after. Soul music is alive and well in Ohio indeed. Now they go and spread their sweet message all over the world from turntable to turntable. Put on those Pendletons and Nike Cortez, it’s time to go cruisin’.
