For a Donny Hathaway “This Christmas” vibe they get the soul man of the year and carrier of the torch for the soul game Durand Jones to help out. The Jamaican Soul backbeat from the Night Owls and Durand’s silky smooth as butter vocal stylings really grab you, bring back the feel of Hathaway on wax, but only as Durand can do it. And to boot, it’s got that island feel to it. Think Ken Boothe getting down in front of the tree with that vocal gift for you and me, with Rivas’s organ straight killing it throughout. For sure this is going to be one of the Christmas classics that will find its way to your turntables this and every year after. It’s super, limited edition, and the flip side is an instrumental version of the track that can definitely be played throughout the whole year as well.
