Eddie Logix – Placebo Palace

Friday’s looking pretty good after the release of this new banger with a big B out of the Rocksteady Disco camp. Their latest artist is Detroit’s finest, the almost two decades strong heart of the D, Eddie Logix. With a boatload of experience that includes many hip hop and ambient releases, his Technically Yeah live hardware nights, Assemble Sound engineer, half of Mega Powers with Pig Pen and BLKSHRK alongside Blair French, this underground grinder has given us his first solo dance EP in Placebo Palace. Logix puts all of his experience into this one and they are all track to get down and sweaty to. The tropical house cut “Que Locos” is a good way to start this EP, hauling in some Latin Jazz piano and horns plus percussion that is inducive to ass shaking. The A-side finishes up with “Baby Girl”, a track that is shakeable to, has a hard ass bass line, and R & B vocal stab that screams “don’t stop!”. Side two gives us “Sunday Palaver”, a deep cut steeped with afro-jazz and heavy house feelings. It’s a sound that is primal and you can not help feeling like this track is made for the latest of late nights, sweat pouring everywhere, strobe on slow, bodies all moving rhythmically until the lights don’t go on. Then they go even further. We like this track. The EP finishes up with “Bottle Rocket”, some psychedelic feels meets live guitar via Daniel Monk and electric bass by stphn-b. This one really moves us, and it’ll move you, too. Check out all the tracks below and order the record after the stream.
