I know we are like a Broken record here, but Big Crown can not be stopped. This time, it’s funk/soul drummer Homer Steinweiss (who’s provided the backbeat to everyone from Lady GagGa to Bruno Mars to Amy Winehouse to the Jonas Brothers and more. Most notably though, he was Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings drummer, leading the charge in their funky sound the world over. Here, he connects with Minnesota guitar player/ singer Paul Spring with his own band, Holy Hive on Big Crown Records. Springs falsetto and Steinweiss’s drumming (instantly recognizable) lend to this side. It’s funky in its own way. and quickly will become something you will put on repeat. This music is deep, and you’ll be glad you dropped the needle on this one. In fact, we’re chomping at the bit to get our hands on the full length, it’s perfect in today
