As we gather round ye old yule log tonight and spin Christmas vinyl classics like Soul Christmas, The Salsoul Orchestra’s Christmas Jollies, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings It’s A Holiday Soul Party, Kelly Finnigan’s A Joyful Sound, and more, there’s a new edition to your yearly holiday music affair. Add in the ever-reliable J-Zone and players Jordan Rose and KONL and their rendition of “The Little Drummer Boy”. This one is short and sweet, but chock full of drum breaks and holiday cheer. So much, that you will definitely be letting this one ride on a loop for a while. We’re always open to new holiday funk steez, and while we’ll be playing “Backdoor Santa” right into “Christmas In Hollis” tonight, we are going to sneak in these funky drummer chaps in as well. We’re happy to have made it to our almost 14th holiday here at Flea Market Funk. This year was all about discovery. Even more discovery of music in our own crates. We revisited old Lps we call friends, and we were able to get some new acquisitions new and used to add to the record family. A huge shout out to Vinyl Me Please who is steadily turning into one of the top reissue companies around. Also shout of to collector scum and Rocket Number Nien in Kingston, NY who have laced me with some of my favorite pick-ups this year. Thank You to all who have enjoyed the ride, contributed, and supported us along the way. We’re hoping you’re somewhere safe with the ones you love, enjoying your records and the moment. 2020 was weird man, and 2021 is most likely going to be even weirder for a while. We will all get through this. Our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to all who subscribe and dig.
Happy Holidays and Dig Deeper!
