Closing out the year in late-night style, Athens of The North come correct (as they always do) with another forty-five that will keep butts moving and bodies sweating until the break of dawn. Although this one came out earlier in the year it’s back once again and notable to highlight as one of the bangers of the year. Put together by the AOTN house band East Coast Love Affair and their cracking version of 1976’s obscure funky and soulful nugget “Don’t Be Afraid” by Sky’s The Limit. Take a ride on the AOTN rocket and get some cosmic vibes with this cover, much moving than the hard to get $1000 plus original record’s sound. This version is indeed a trip and will have people moving wherever they may be. Dedicated to the art of moving butts for sure. The flip, “Taken For Granted” is on some afro-funk goodness. Heavy with percussion, this one also bangs from start to finish. The first in a series of seven-inch covers that will eventually be an Lp, it is highly recommended that this one is picked up. We feel that this is one of the best forty fives of the year and will go for big money in years to come. Athens of The North never ever disappoint, and we’re happy to share this one (albeit a little late) with the masses.
