Well, it’s that time of the month again and if you’ve been poking around these parts for the last 5 years or so, you’ve undoubted heard of the party called Shake! Monk-One and I started this all vinyl party half a decade ago at Friends and Lovers in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. New York City. What started out as a night of funky stuff has evolved in this time to be the best party I have ever been a part of. The music, the people, the vibe, it’s been nothing like this in all my DJ career. We paid tribute to DJs like Larry Levan, David Mancuso, and Nicky Siano. We wanted people catch feelings for the music they played at the Paradise Garage or The Loft, or hell, Downtown NYC in the ’80s where disco sat next to this thing called hip hop, funk, soul, breaks and more. Nothing but good music, no attitude, just like minded individuals dancing from start to finish. And that’s what you’ll get at Shake! Come as you are, no matter who you are. Just be you. We’ve got your back with the vibe. We don’t take requests and you might not know all the records we play, but we’re sure you’ll have a good time. So as we’ve returned post-Covid, I’ve put together a 45 minute all live, all in one take set of music that I might be playing this Saturday night September 11th in Crown Heights because you don’t get a second chance to do it live. The mix is called Party Here! If you dig it, pass it on to a friend and if you’re in NYC this weekend, pop in to FnL and say hello and have a dance.
Here are the details for Saturday’s Party:

See you on the dance floor!
