Oooh wee, we love to get a new AJ & The Jiggawatts record coming our way. In fact, we’re even more excited it’s the first release on the new Money Mouse record label. Fresh tracks and fresh label art, it’s something that always makes us happy here at Flea Market Funk.

This double-sider is heat filled, but we’re focusing on the B-Side today, the heater called “Karma Is A Bitch”. You know she is people. Returning after four years, AJ & The Jiggawatts proceed to rip through this side with intent. Heavy and heady, string filled and high and tight, this side is a hearty slice of Southern funk that could have been included in any of the Blaxploitation flicks, it feels that good. It’s authentic funk through and through. It feels like ’73 when we know cot damn well it’s 2021. This record could’ve been lost at Stax, it’s got that and some Isaac Hayes influence written all over it. If you can’t get down to this, you best be getting to a doctor and getting your ears checked out. If you’re not moving, get some sort of vitamin shot because AJ & The Jiggawatts are back and sounding better than ever. Don’t believe us? Listen to this track, then listen again.
