We lost another great today. Dr. Lonnie Smith, master of the Hammond organ passed away on 9/28 at the age of 79. Some of the earliest jazz we were introduced to was Smith and we definitely won’t forget the first time we heard the good doctor and the impact he made on us to this day. Condolences to those in the extended FMF family who were close to, mentored by, and played with the man.
