Boca 45 feat. Louis Baker – Soul On Top / Diegos Theme

Boca 45 Soul On Top 45A while back, we wrote about 45 Live, a large group of UK based 45 slingers who were doing things across Europe via festivals, events, and the like. With a who’s who of the 45 DJ scene, we here at Flea Market Funk believe it’s a great project. Sort of like a 7″, in-house agency for good music. They’re not just about playing live either, and they’re preparing for their first release on the 45 Live imprint. If you’re not familiar with Scott Hendy aka Boca 45, well then prepare to get very familiar. He’s made banging tracks with our man Andy Smith as Dynamo Productions, with Ben Salisbury as Dolman, with Gee Ealey as Malachai, and his many solo records on a variety of labels. Talented producer, DJ, and beat maker. This time he’s teamed up with Red Bull Academy vocal breakout star, the New Zealand native Louis Baker, for one helluva a 45. If you are a fan of drums (I mean you are on this site) and great soul vocals, then this is a 45 for you. Louis Baker has a voice reminiscent of New Orleans and Motown greats, and coupled with Boca’s on point drums and production, this record will be moving dance floors and shaking asses all over the globe. With a dope saxophone break down and some crispy cuts, this is a great way to start off 2016. The flip, “Diego’s Theme” is a drum filled b-boy anthem complete with a uprock written all over it. Some psych guitar matched with the drums, it was taken from Boca’s second LP Vertigo Sounds and is a tribute to Diego Maradona. An even bigger bonus, because it’s like Boca knows our love for funky drums and football. You’ll love it too. With a limited edition of 300 pieces pressed, it’s not going to last very long. It will be available in Jan. 2016, so do it now, thank yourself later.
